I like to wake up with nothing pressing to do, put on a few simple articles of clothing and my flip-flops and walk a short distance to the beach. At this point life could not be better. The beach is as amazing as any in the world; you’re relaxed, with a vacation mindset, and your options are limitless. Swimming with the dolphins, golf, shopping, water sports, Cancun’s eco parks, a bullfight, visiting the Mayan ruins or a cenote; with your mind void of all responsibilities the right activity will come to you.

Spend some time at the traditional downtown area of El Centro and experience Cancun’s culture. Here you can enjoy street performances while shopping for interesting souvenirs that you cannot find anywhere else. Afterwards you can stop in at a local bar or restaurant and enjoy some local cuisine with an authentic margarita. If you are in Cancun on a weekday evening you have the opportunity to have a unique and intimate cultural experience at the National Folkloric Ballet of Mexico.

A trip to the Ruinas Del Ray in Cancun, known as El Ray, is an education in the history of the Yucatan Peninsula and its people. These Mayan ruins date back to the 2nd century B.C. and are linked to astronomical practices. This is an interesting excursion and an eye opening experience.

An unworldly land awaits you at any one of the cenotes on the Yucatan Peninsula. A cenote is a sinkhole filled with water that is connected to an underground river. The beautiful formations of limestone and mineral deposits and the cool clear blue water make for a breathtaking scene. The Mayans held religious ceremonies here. Bring your shorts, take a dip and have a religious experience of your own.
